The fact that there is division designed within a system that drives the winner-takes-all feature for those with unbridled ambition and greed for power... to keep the people asleep and oppressed. At this point in the timeline, it seems near impossible for someone to imagine a world that's possible where they are able to afford food and shelter, experience authentic community and third places, and have time for their passions, goals and dreams. Well, I'm here to say that it is possible. It is not too late to start living again.
But in order to make it possible, the system has to be analyzed and made more fitting for the well-being and growth of actual human bodies, not non-human bodies (read: corporations). At the very least, corporations should be prioritizing the community of their workers, not hoarding their wealth and keeping the wages stagnant. That would be a step in the right direction towards a bright future of freedom and enabled self-determination.
Speaking of self-determination, I think another positive step forward would be to not use religion (read: Christian nationalism) in two ways. One, as a replacement for authentic self-concept. If a person isn't aware of their true selves and follows a set of guidelines or rules and believes it good, is it really in their best interest? That's not to say that it automatically leads to dogmatic behavior and priggishness; that's the second issue. Two, as a cover for much-less-than good intentions, like being holier-than-thou or, further in, forcing one's beliefs onto another, violating their rights. We see this today with the overturning of Roe v. Wade and the push for placing the Ten Commandments in classrooms, which is against the supposed-to-be fair idea of separation between church and state.
Basically, *they* think they are right and will do their utmost to take control. Actually, no, they want to be in control because they "know" they are right. They want things to remain the same--they want to go back to the good old days. Therefore, their sights are set on taking control through the government, through Project 2025 if Donald Trump is elected to the presidency.
However, this brings me to my main point. Is the existence of a government or state necessary? ... Maybe that's the wrong question. In my mind, I see a future where people have more agency through communal living, shared agricultural spaces and library economies.
In the future, intelligence, knowledge, individuality and cooperation will be the superpowers, not authority, control, tradition and competition.
Though, in my mind, there will still be competition, but it would be the friendly and passionate kind, because competition motivates us to grow and become our best selves.
But I digress. What I'm trying to say is, if I learn more about civics and how the government operates and is structured, it would be possible to find ways to make it more efficient. Still, given the philosophical reasons for the existence of government (read: Leviathan), it may be more prudent to learn about it but only watch, and wait for when hegemony finally comes crumbling down... Then the chosen will be ready to lead the new world, and the country (and world) will finally be united.
